After studyiing illustration design at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, while working as a freelance illustrator, j Li  founded ' BY J LI FROM CA, ' in 2011.  " I started photographing various elements of design found in Californian everyday life and sharing with people," she says, " and eventually my first creative project began to be by my subscribers from the SNS I managed. One thing led to another and, through word of mouth, j Li’s timeless and beautiful creative portfolio keep adding to the ' BY J LI FROM CA ' showcase."

j Li now spends most of her time capturing glimpses of nostalgia in her photography and creating her visual designs sharing with her long time clients through ' BY J LI FROM CA. '. But her love for design does not end here. It has extended into print, fashion, interior design, outdoor lifestyle and also features food design from her chef sister, j. Y. Li
